Introduction to My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

My sister's keeper is a story about a 13- year old girl Anna. Anna has leukemia, and she is struggling to keep alive. Her sister Kate's birth was engineered so that Kate could give her well working organs to Anna if her's stop working. Anna has had many surgeries since birth so that she could keep her sister alive. Once Anna could figure out what was going on she decided she did not want to hold this kind of life anymore. The mother, Sara, is disappointed in Anna's decision but does not fully understand why she is doing this to her sister.


Jodi Picoult is  an American author. She received an award in 2003 for the New England Bookseller Award. She was born in Long Island. At age 13, she moved to New Hampshire. She is married to Tim Van Leer and they had three kids together. The three kids names were Sammy, Kyle, and Jake. Some other books beside My Sister's Keeper that Jodi wrote were House Rules, Wonder Woman, The Tenth Circle, Keeping Faith, and Picture Perfect
